Description
Transcat Small Dog Door
Transcat Small Dog Door with Magnetic Catch
This high quality small dog door is made from tough polycarbonate plastic and can be installed into glass and other materials. It installs quickly and easily and can fit almost any interior or exterior door but we do recommend using a tradesman to install the door. With four way locking mechanisms you have full control over your dog to allow it in but not out, out but not in, or fully locked by not letting it go in or out. The door has magnetic catches to restrict the flaps from flapping unnecessarily.
The dog door is ideal for beagles, poodles, terriers and dogs of similar size. If you have a large dog, please check that your dog will fit through the door when fully grown. If you are unsure whether your fully grown dog will be able to fit through the door we recommend that you make a cardboard template and see if your dog can climb through comfortably.

Unsure if your dog will fit? Make a template out of a sheet of cardboard (see diagram below) and see if your dog can fit through easily. Your dog should be fully grown.
Installation Instructions
Installation into Single Pane Glass
A circular hole is simply cut by a competent glazier and your Transcat Dog door fitted in the following manner:
- The glazier should be consulted about where to cut the hole but owners should also consider factors such as the height of the dog's legs and whether or not they are fully grown. The dog should also be able to go through the dog door without having to jump up or crouch down.
- The hole in the glass should be 385mm in diameter.
- The two main parts of the Cat Door are then clamped with the glass between. Use the four bolts supplied. IMPORTANT! Assemble the door so that the frame with the flap is on the outside.
- Nuts should be fitted finger tight only, to prevent unnecessary stress being place on the glass. This is sufficient to hold the door.
Installation into a Double Glazed Panel of Glass
A circular hole is simply cut by a competent glazier and your Transcat Dog door fitted in the following manner:
- The glazier should be consulted about where to cut the hole but owners should also consider factors such as the height of the dog's legs and whether or not they are fully grown. The dog should also be able to go through the dog door without having to jump up or crouch down.
- The hole in the glass should be 385mm in diameter. The hole should be sealed by the glazier to maintain the integrity of the double glazing.
- The two main parts of the Dog Door are then clamped with the glass between. Use the four bolts supplied. Longer bolts are available in lengths of 30, 35 and 40mm. IMPORTANT! Assemble the door so that the frame with the flap is on the outside.
- Nuts should be fitted finger tight only, to prevent unnecessary stress being place on the glass. This is sufficient to hold the door.
Other materials
Your Transcat Dog Door can be fitted to thicker panels or solid core wooden doors or walls using a 358mm diameter hole.
The supporting ring is not required because the dog door is fastened to the outside using screws (not supplied).
Cleaning
Remove the door from where it is installed and wash in soapy water using a soft cloth. Do not use spray on lubricants.
Important
The door is made from tough polycarbonate plastic but will break if put under strain for which it is not intended. Care should be taken not to allow a sliding door to hit the side of the flap which might still be swinging because if it is hit from the side it will break.
The dog door opening could allow a small child to squeeze through.
Care should be taken in the placement of the dog door that the appropriate security measures are in place on surrounding windows and doors.
